Online Updates
This month's workshop explains how Intrexx online updates can be installed. The online updates ensure that your server is always up to date with the latest bug fixes. The update packages, which United Planet provides on the Update Server, can be downloaded with the Portal Manager via the main menu item ‘Extras / Online Update’. As soon as the packages are downloaded, the updates can be installed at any time. You will find a description of the fixed issues for each available update package. Please be aware that the installation causes a restart of the Intrexx services, so the portal users will be logged out for a short period of time.
If the Intrexx Server is connected to the Internet, the packages can be downloaded automatically, when the configuration is set to
Download via HTTP. For Intrexx Servers without an Internet connection, the packages can be taken from a ZIP file, which can be downloaded from Intrexx Live!. Simply copy the ZIP file to a folder on the Intrexx Server and select
Installation from .zip file on Xtreme server.
To perform the online update installation on a headless Linux / UNIX system, please proceed as follows:
1. Login as root in the Intrexx Server
2. Change directory to
/opt/xtreme/bin/<os>
3. Download the update packages by executing the script
<xtreme>/bin/<os>/upddownload.sh
4. Install the downloaded packages by executing the script
<xtreme>/bin/<os>/updinstall.sh
