  Web Service are small programs from well known providers, that maintains the data centrally allowing direct access to the internet. The Exchange from information occurs over XML data.   A small example:
  You would like to acquire the IBAN number from an employee. In the past, you would have needed the field for the Name of the Bank, as well as the Routing number.
