Most activities and processes in an organization can be excellently "steered" by software. The high degree of flexibility required by these processes will be reached today, as a rule, most effectively by web-based applications, as their development processes are very short. The collection of process-optimizing applications in a portal ensures a central access point for employees.

The "Process Manager" module integrated into the Intrexx Xtreme Portal Manager makes it possible to link all applications within a portal to one another with the click of the mouse, and makes available a multitude of powerful functions that allow activities and processes to be optimized.

The reactions to actions of users will be supplemented by absolute and relative time-controlled events. In combination with filters, everything from various data record actions up to automatic sending of eMails or SMS messages help create cost-saving and powerful process portals.

Unforeseen possibilities open themselves up to users when data of existing systems are integrated (read and write) into the applications of the portal via the foreign data integration module, thereby allowing this data to be directly included in the design of processes.

A few examples of use

The Process Manager allows, in the blink of an eye and without programming time, event controlled workflows to be assigned to individual applications. As usual with Intrexx, via a graphical user interface and assistants, each application can be equipped with a workflow. This allows, for example, an application for investment of under 100 Euros to be automatically given the status of "Approved" and the internal procurement department directly notified of the purchase with an eMail.

If, on the other hand, an application is created with a higher investment amount, the supervisor of the employee will be automatically be notified with an eMail of the new request for approval. Naturally, the key data will be included in the eMail, and a link will give a quick path to the approval page.

Obviously, multiple levels of approval and escalation processes can be created in this way. Time-controlled tasks can also be executed, such as the notification of the employee if his request is not processed within 14 days.

The Process Manager makes the cleanup of the portal also possible. With timers, old entries in applications can be found and automatically archived. To do this, it supports the copying of data records from one application into another. The possibilities that the Workflow Designer can support in daily use in your portal are, therefore, just as inexhaustible as the possibility of creating your own applications.
