New license model unleashes the power of Intrexx Xtreme with one-off fee

Organisations that want to make web applications available to all internal and external users can now benefit from a new cost effective license model for Intrexx Xtreme. The ‘one-off’ Application License provides unlimited access to one web application for an unlimited amount of users for only £1,710.

The new pricing structure will enable companies to create and deploy standalone web application projects on a small budget in a short time frame without having to build a full-scale intranet or enterprise portal.

The Application License has already proven to be a successful approach for companies seeking to create and implement the following type of projects for less than £1,800:
  • Vendor Management: enabling external vendors to log in to a web application to enter or view current orders, whilst also improving internal evaluation of vendors.
  • Order Management: providing customers with accurate order tracking and order history via a simple ‘log in’ facility.
  • Leave Management: simplifying leave management for employees and employers at the same time.
Whether you choose to create a web application of your own, decide to use one of Intrexx Xtreme’s pre-developed application templates or prefer to download free additional applications from our community portal Intrexx Live!, the team of Intrexx Xtreme consultants is always available to support your business needs. Those organisations that wish to combine their standalone projects in an enterprise portal or intranet at a later time will be able to switch to the traditional user license model as required.

Please note that a combination of both license models is not possible.

What is “Groovy”?

The launch of Intrexx Xtreme version 4.5 saw the introduction of over 30 new features. However, the ‘Groovy integration’ is the feature that has got everyone talking. Whilst some users have already heard about the benefits of this scripting language, for others it’s still relatively unknown.

What exactly is Groovy designed for and how can it help you to maximise the potential of your portal?

Groovy is a scripting language for the Java VM with several useful and interesting features that Java itself either cannot deliver or would require a lot of tricky coding to achieve the same result. Groovy is characterised by its easy handling which means that it requires very few lines of code and is able to integrate existing libraries with ease.

Groovy makes it easier to:

  • Create complex procedures, loops and database operations
  • Adjust foreign Web Services with reactions to their input and output parameters
  • Carry out numerous calculation operations with the assistance of the integrated Process Manger (stock, orders, purchasing)
  • Combine different data fields (e.g. first name + last name = full name)
The new version of Intrexx Xtreme 4.5 with its “Groovy Integration” feature can be downloaded free of charge from www.intrexx.com. In addition a ‘Scripting with Groovy’ manual is available to guide you through example applications so that you can get started right away.

Intrexx Live! delivers new Video Centre Application as a free download

Companies of all sizes invest a lot of time and money in the building presentations for new customers, partners and employees. The best way to maximise this investment is to make them available time and time again, to a wider audience via an enterprise portal.

The Video Centre allows businesses to show video streams and store additional information at the same time via assigned players on the video platform. The ability to embed external video sources from YouTube, for example, also allows you to extend portal content with other material, for either educational or entertainment purposes.
