SCOTT improves its internal communication and speeds up corporate operations at the same time through the use of an enterprise portal.

Freiburg, December 7, 2005 – The SCOTT Sports AG Germany, manufacturer of high-quality sports products for bicycle and ski, has decided to use the portal-solution Intrexx Xtreme from United Planet in order to improve internal work processes. “The new portal is a sensible improvement to the existing SAP R/3, and helps us to make information and process improvements centrally available,” reasons Anton Patzinger, Director of Administration and Finances. “R/3 is outstanding in its abilities to collect information about our products and volume of sales; our goal was then to make this information quickly and easily available to our workers.” As a result, current procedures for development and manufacturing processes can now be retrieved from a central location.

In addition to this knowledge database, marketing activities will be coordinated through the portal. With this, all marketing operations as well as the people working on them will be made transparent. “Through this, we make sure that resellers and partners are optimally informed of our events and can better coordinate their own marketing activities,” explains Patzinger.

In a further step, the Austrian subsidiary will also be connected to the portal. The goal is to improve and speed up communication between subsidiaries, a process that already has been realized in partial areas. “We are now working quicker and more effectively, which is reflected in no small way in the satisfaction of our customers,” says Patzinger to summarize the improvements for his company.
