With the release of the new Intrexx Version 5, we have introduced a new edition of Intrexx - Intrexx Compact. This edition is designed for smaller enterprises with up to 10 computer workstations. It includes a ready-for-use enterprise portal, with over 50 ready-made web applications and templates specially designed for the requirements of smaller companies. As is usual for Intrexx, this edition can also be tailored exactly for the individual requirements of a specific company. In addition, in the Intrexx Application Store, hundreds of free and paid enterprise applications are available for use, which can be integrated into the system with just a few clicks.
The successful Intrexx edition Intrexx Xtreme has been renamed in the course of the expansion of our product portfolio into Intrexx Professional, in order to provide for a clear division between both editions. This edition continues to be developed consequently for the ambitious mid-size sector, public administrations, and other organizations.

Unlimited freedom, powerful capacity - the new Intrexx Designer
For your portal and application layout, a completely new designer is here to help you. The new Intrexx Designer makes it possible for you to place elements and additional controls of a layout completely according to your wishes and imagination. This offers you a never-before-seen flexibility in the creation of your design. Naturally, you can create a layout for your enterprise portal completely and fully corresponding to the corporate design of your company - with logo, company colors, and font. In addition, you now have the ability to choose between a number of brand new layout templates. Classical, modern, or futuristic - we leave the choice up to you.
With the redesign of the Designer, we have also implemented one requirement very consequently: speed. Intrexx enterprise portals are unbelievably quick. As soon as you call up your portal, an extensive collection of caching mechanisms will become active. Through this, we have been able to reduce load times by up to 90%. You will notice this. Create accessible portals
Widely accessible applications can now be created quickly and easily with Intrexx 5. Intrexx largely fulfills the requirements of BITV (German Barrier-Free Information Technology Act) and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) for accessibility of intranet and internet content.
Efficient processes via self-defined workflows - the new Process Designer
The efficient execution of business processes enjoys the highest priority in every enterprise. In order to give you even more possibilities in the transformation of these processes into cost-efficient electronic workflows, we have expanded the Intrexx Process Manager with important functions.The numerous new elements can in this way guarantee, for example, now an even greater flexibility in the management of business processes. A novel bird's-eye view ensures that you will always have a clear overview, even with complex processes. In addition, the new Groovy editor supports developers who wish to map processes using Groovy integration: for example, it is now possible to include third-party systems directly in the workflow of an application, or to take over certain tasks (like the creation of monthly reports in PDF format).
In this way, the new Process Designer enables the entire organization to work even more productively.
Even easier to use - many new assistants
Flexibility and complexity in a piece of software often lead to a grave disadvantage: the software becomes more difficult to use. Functions become hidden, everything becomes intransparent. One of the significant directives for the new version was to fight against this exact situation and to ensure that everything remains just as quick and easy to use as ever. For this reason, Intrexx has been provided with numerous new assistants that lead the user securely through the multitude of functions. Because of this, despite the numerous new possibilities, it is still possible to very easily create a new portal layout or create a new application page. Even mobile applications for the iPhone can be created quickly and easily.
Enhanced Search
We have equally optimized the search functions in Intrexx 5: it was previously the case that application data was searched database-based and documents index-based, and now it is also possible to search for data and documents purely index-based.This purely index-based search offers first the advantage that the search does not take place separately for data and documents. Second, one can now also search much more quickly in large collections of data for a specific piece of information. Additionally, since the index will be immediately refreshed upon all insert, change, and delete actions, the search results will always be as current as possible.
In order to arrange the search even more clearly, the relevance of hits will now be visualized with the help of a display; furthermore, the hits will be entered into tags. The possibility to directly open documents found additionally accelerates the search for a specific document.
