Intrexx portal connects Audi Akademie employees and sites
Audi Akademie (German word for academy) is one of the leading training and consulting institutes in Germany. As a subsidiary of AUDI AG, the academy is its central partner in all matters concerning competency development. Since 1993, the academy has been successfully offering company-specific training courses and consulting services in the areas of HR & Management, Information & Technology, CAD/PLM, trade and foreign languages. In addition to AUDI AG, companies from all parts of the automotive supplier industry, from other production and technology segments as well as from the service industry are also regular customers of the Audi Akademie.

Requirements
As it had become difficult to find information on account of the numerous shared drives that had been set up over the course of time, the company wanted to replace these drives by a central information platform. This platform was to make all information available to employees in a clear and structured way. In order to be able to provide all the different sites of the Audi Akademie with the most up-to-date information via the Internet, the solution used also had to be web-based.
Solution
The academy opted for setting up an Intranet using the platform-independent portal software Intrexx which makes it possible to assign reading and writing authorization individually (e.g. in accordance with an employee's function within the academy). In this way, all authorized employees can easily maintain content on the portal. Thanks to the numerous ready-made application templates, it did not take the academy long to establish a comprehensive information portal which makes all important information available to Audi Akademie employees at their different sites. This includes, for instance, work tools or specific information on the individual Audi Akademie business areas. As Intrexx is web-based, it was also possible to arrange password-protected external access via the Internet. This gives Audi Akademie trainers and freelancers access to all information that is important to them independent of site and allows them to prepare for customer meetings or courses quickly and easily. The different portal applications also simplify everyday workflows, such as booking rooms, vehicles or ordering lunch. All these processes that previously took up a lot of time and paperwork are now reduced to just a few minutes thanks to Intrexx. Both employees and managers save time that they can invest in other activities now.
